Christopher Roberts and Christopher Rance developed a friendship while serving as Instructors at the US Army Sniper Course in 2017. Their friendship carried over to competing together in the Mammoth Sniper Challenge, Israeli Sniper Competition and a few others. Both came with backgrounds in training and doctrine and saw a need for progression in the sniper community.

For the next three years they set out to advance the Sniper Course Program of Instruction (POI). This progression included updates to the Sniper Manual (TC 3-22.10), writing individual and collective tasks, and modernizing engagement techniques. They worked with Defense Acquisitions personnel to adopt new equipment, such as the Precision Sniper Rifle MK22.

In 2020, with the lockdowns looming over everyones head. Chris Roberts decided to move forward with their vision to bring professional and doctrinally grounded training to the civilian marketplace. And so CR2 Shooting Solutions, LLC was born...
